Thursday, January 28, 2010 @ The Science Lab
Today I realised how disruptive my class can be. For the past year in 2C I have seen my class being mischevious amd naughty. But today the class had broken all the previous records. But I am disgraced to say that I was one of the people who caused trouble today.

It was chemistry lesson and we were waiting for our chemistry teacher, Mrs Peh. Mrs Peh was a teacher with a lot of patience and she knew how to control her anger very well. In the whole she was a good teacher. After waiting for a couple of minutes she arrived and told us that we were going to the lab. I was very happy because lab lessons were always very interesting as there was a lot of hands-on activities and it was very interesting.

Today my class was much more quieter than other days when we move to the science lab. I was happy that we were not told to stand outside and wait until we were quiet like the other day. I was pleased. When we went inside we were told to do the experiment to the the presence of gases(hydrogen and carbon dioxide). It may sound simple you try it.

Especially when your class is so good and they do things which are not in the book( i was one of them). For example I and some of my friends dipped the splinter into the mixture of extracted coffe concentrate and copper(II) oxide and burnt it in the flame. This causes what you call a 'green' flame to form. This amazed alot of my classmates and the started doing the same thing to. Some resulted into pouring the mixture on the table to ease the dipping. As the mixture was brown in colour it dirtied the table alot.

Next there was one of my classmate who forgot the basic rules of heating a aubstance. The substance was the same mixture I talked about earlier. When you are heating a substance you should point the mouth test-tube away from anyone. But this person pointed it towards himself. That was his first mistake. The second mistake was that it was stated clearly to warm the substane gently. And this friend of mine heated in strong flame. Because of this act the mixture bubbled out of the test- tube and spilt on his shirt. And as i have said the mixture is brown. So it dirtied the floor and his shirt. The best thing was that he was not scalded by the hot substance.

Because of this Mrs Peh made the whole class sacrifice half of our recess to clean the lab. Worst of all we had given a bad impression of our class to her. So I am disappointed by what had happened in the lab today. I hope this would be the last time I see such thing happen.

There are many moments when you feel that there is no hope in life. But then there is someone or some people that help to put you back on track. There are many people groups of people who can help you to do that. For example, friends, cca members or your teachers. But now the group of people i am going to talk about are none other than my family.

My family members can be said to be the most efficient people in the world. Lets start from my father. He is a businessman who is busy most of time. He is very open-minded and thinks to the maximum. He is someone who wants everything perfect at the first shot. But as I started to grow older and make many mistales in life, he realised his wish of being perfect is not that easy. I have to say that he changed. But not completely changed...

Next I am going to talk about my mother. I cannot disagree to the fact that she is one of the most hardworking mother. She takes care of the household. She makes breakfast for three people every morning. Takes care of my youngest brother. Wow, i can't see how she survives with so much work to do.

Now to my two brothers. There is nothing much to say abou them. I am the oldest among them. And i have a greatest responsibility of taking care of them and more. There are very mischievious and I get into trouble with my parents a lot because of them.

That sums it all up. I have five members in my famaily including me. They are of the greatest people in the world.

Monday, January 25, 2010 @ A day spent with my family
I have many wishes in life. When I say many I mean it. Many wishes. The most important of them is to be a wonderful child. This is a very difficult wish to fulfill but as they say nothing is impossible. But there is particularly one day I want to be in my best behavior.

That day is my parents anniversary day. The day my parents got to know each other. The day they first lived together. The day that they got to see all the relatives. All of them except me. Yesterday was my parents fifteenth wedding anniversary. This year i thought of bring the celebrations one step higher. I thought of arranging a party and inviting all the relatives. The same way all the relatives gathered for their marriage. I knew this was a very difficult task to do. But i was the eldest of my siblings so it was my responsibilty in doing so.

I panned of buying a cake with the money i had saved. I had to take some of my brother's savings to buy dinner. I found that my brother and i have more than enough to buy all the food items. I placed the orders for the cake and dinner a week before. As i only live in a five room flat I had to only invite my close relatives. But i was still contented that there were visitors. After all having afew is better than having none. I bought the gifts with the remaining money.

The next week I had my aunt bringing my parents out until late afternoon because I had to get everything ready and suprise my parents. When my parents returned they were astonished with what I have done. They did not noe that i was capable of organising a party. I was happy that i made their day.

I have had many homeworks in my life. But none of theme were as hard as the homework i got today. And the subject is Home economics. Can you believe it? From home economics. Actually i thought of home economics as a subject that is fun as we get to cook. This is something we don't get to do everyday. But there was another part to Home economics. Sewing. My fingers tremble as i say that word. Cooking is fun. But sewing is the direct opposite.

Lets start from the part i was assigned this homework. It was after recess and i was goimg back to class after eating. I saw my other classmates lining outside the classroom. It was home economics, i remembered. I got my sewing kit and my home economics textbooks and lined up with them. Who new what was waiting for us in the home economics room. We walked to the room very quietly( i'm being sarcastic). Ms Hashimah, the home economics teacher was waiting for us outside the classroom with a cross face. She was fuming. When went in side the classroom, she scolded us for being very late. But then her anger subsided in a few momoents and class began.

In class we were thought how to do a blanket sticth. The blanket stich had curves and looked quite nice. We were told to do it at home at bring it too school the next day. But when i went home i was unsure about the sticthing method so i called my friends for assistance. After listening to them i had a brief idea of how to do it so i continued. But the real problem was that i was unable to sticth it properly and it was messy. The tries i took to correct them resulted in the formation of knots. This was a truly good experience. I had to burn midnight's oil to finish it so i was quite frustrated. Now that i can do the sticth i am proud of myself.

Today was a tiring day. If only I had not met my friend. I would not walked to one shopping mall to another. Today school ended just the way it always had. I thought I could go back rest and finish my homework early and do some reading up on chemistry chapters. After school I met my friend Jian Zhou at his class as i always did as we both live at bedok. But that day his face had an indignant expression. I could tell this because I knew him since primary school so I was sure how to tell his feelings from his face. He told me that his teacher had wanted him to get a book which was not sold at the bookshop. So that meant that he had to go to a bookshop outside. But the real problem was that he had to get it by next day.

This was ridiculous as the nearest bookshop which is "Popular" was at Tampinis. I wished him good luck as i knew that he was going to get in to trouble. That made him more angry. After all he was my friend and what are friends for. I suggested that i would go to tampinis woth him. After the long bus ride we reached Tampinis Mall. We took the lift to the fourth floor where the "Popular" was.

In the bookshop i went to find non-fiction books and Jian Zhou went to get the book. But then he came back with the same indignant face. " What is it this time" I asked he and told me that the aunty told him that the book was out of stock and he needed to go to Easpoint Mall which was at Simei. So rushed to the "popular" there and we did the same things again. Jian Zhou came back delighted. That made me happy because i had helped a friend and made him happy by following him to his destinations. Jian Zhou then treated me to KFC. After that i went home with a full stomach delighted.
